Shimla - Manali - Darmashala - Dalhousie - Amritsar - Delhi
Himachal
Pradesh is totally a mountain state and a delight for the visitors,
particularly during the summer season when people flock to this tiny hill
station to escape the scorching heat of the plains.
Shimla The mother
of all hill stations. Favourite haunt of honeymoon couples, holidaying
families and young crowds out to have some fun away from home. Packed with a
bustling Mall, skating rinks and cosy look-out points.
From a
nondescript village, Shimla has grown into one of the most royal and posh
hill stations of the country. Though it still holds the charm of a typical
hill station with the mall and the evening walks and its laid back attitude,
it has lost its original lure after the disappearance of its alpine forests.
Yet the winter snowfall and the need to run from the summer heat of the
plains manages to attract tourists to this busy hill station.
For its
glamour, glitz and shopping, though expensive, Shimla is the place to be
among the hill stations. But if you are looking for some peace of mind or
want to relax, go beyond Shimla to the lush green golf course of Naldhera.
Kufri in the winters is great for skiing and sledging.
